The Quad
York University's newest purpose-built student housing development, delivering over 2,360 beds and strong financial value across multiple phases.
The Quad is a multi-phase, mixed-use student housing community within the South Mall
neighbourhood identified in the Keele Campus Vision & Strategy. The project leverages a forward thinking public-private partnership structure to deliver high-quality purpose-built student housing. Dedicated amenities, student-centered services and strong sustainability features help enrich both the student experience and the campus environment.
Through a phased delivery model, approximately one million square feet of student housing across six buildings—representing over 2,360 beds—will have opened over a nine-year period, enabling agile responsiveness to enrolment growth, market conditions and evolving community needs.
As a partnership between a Canadian university and the private sector to deliver purpose-built student housing, The Quad project demonstrates how leadership and future thinking creates purposeful partnerships that deliver financially sustainable communities, enhance student life and support York University’s academic mission.
In recognition of the project’s innovation and leadership to deliver student housing through a public-private partnership framework, The Quad received the 2018 Silver Award for Service Delivery from the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships.
